College?

"What do global positioning systems and gene splicing, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and
The Grapes of Wrath, the football huddle and the T-formation, Yahoo! and Google have in common? All bear the mark of a Stanford individual."
--from the Stanford viewbook
And, Stanford, i've been to. I've lived in there for most of my life, i know the places, the culture. Plus, the Bay Area is the place to be for a geek. Apple, Google, whatnot. and it'll be a home coming of sorts...

But then there are the hacks, the IAP, and, especially, the UROP at MIT. Besides, whenever you watch a movie, the genius with a triple Ph.D. who saves the world--he's from MIT. Mit is the hottest place for any degree at all in science, not to mention the fact that they accept a lot of "pointy" people. The culture is pretty cool; it seems like I could fit in there. And it snows in boston....

Then there's CalTech. If you can survive a month there, you can survive anywhere...

And the rest of HYPSM. And UC-Berkeley--where all the smart asian nerds go.

Last, but not least, there's IIT. Only reason it's good is the sheer amount of competition. I mean, dang! only 4,200 people accepted? that's about a 2% admission rate! and that hanging on one single test. unheard of. purely la creme de la creme go there. but once you get in....iono. not my kinda place, really. i wanna go home....

the iPhone's out!

It's a nano + a phone. Cool. it's slimmer than the razr. hot. and a 3.5" touch screen, safari, and a whole bunch of other goodies--it almost almost justifies the price. but.... the ipod was expensive when that came out, and it only catered to people with macs. and see where it is now!

What's even cooler is apple's stock. it's at a record $92.57... it's made me 74% since i "bought" it for $53.20....

right now, the portfolio i have has made 53.86%... hot hot hot! if only that money was real...

aaaaaaaaaaaand...i got my psat scores. finally. the school didn't mail it, my dad went and got it. uh... the scores were:
crit reading: 74, 99th percentile
math: 73, 99th percentile (just two dumb questions wrong....)
writing skills: 66 (blah), 99th percentile
total: 213, 99th percentile
better than most ppl i know, but still pretty crappy.

i've decided that i'm having too much fun. not enough work. so, cuz i'm crazy, i've decided to write AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, and AP Chemistry this year. On my own. no coaching, no classes, whatev. fun! (no sarcasm intended, i'm crazy like that)

meh.

I'm starting to think that my PSAT scores got lost in the mail....

What's the point in going all the way to school if I'm not going to do anything there? Just sit there all day long..... I could do so much more at home.

About 2 years of school left, and I'm not really sure if I'll be too unhappy when it's over. CBSE is completely stifling. The one commandment of CBSE--
1. Thou shalt not think.
Original thinking is the original sin here. Deviate from the textbook by a single word, and watch little red marks blossom all over your answer paper, slashing left and right, opening oozing red wounds....

If I were rich....

First Post

Relatively self-explanatory....

Let's hope I cross the 6 month limit with this one.
